Green Shift Workshop Inspires Sustainability in Satkania

On May 20, 2025, the Parishad Bhaban of Satkania witnessed a vibrant gathering of 100 students and changemakers, united by a shared vision—a greener, more sustainable future. The event, titled “Green Shift: Building a Sustainable Environment,” was organized by Green Lead, powered by PolyEco Recycling Industries, and held in collaboration with the Satkania Upazila Administration.

The highlight of the day was an insightful workshop conducted by Tauhidul Islam Masum, founder of the Global YouthNet Platform, a governing body member of Green Lead, and a faculty member at Bandarban University. With years of youth leadership experience, Masum brought energy and clarity to the concepts of sustainability, engaging the audience with real-world examples and ideas for local impact.

The event was honored by several distinguished guests:

  • Milton Biswas, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO)
  • Farishta Karim, AC (Land)
  • Md. Shamsuddin, Youth Development Officer
  • Hameed Hasan Alvee, Managing Director of PolyEco

Their presence, encouragement, and continued support for youth-led initiatives served as a strong message about the importance of administrative collaboration in climate action.

Interactive activities such as quizzes and games brought the concepts of environmental responsibility to life, sparking conversations among young attendees and making learning enjoyable. The workshop concluded with tokens of appreciation presented to the guests, with a special honor given to UNO Milton Biswas on behalf of the people of Satkania.

A formal vote of thanks was delivered by Md Fahim Hossain, Chairperson of Green Lead Society, expressing gratitude to everyone who made the day a success.

Green Shift in Satkania was more than just an event—it was a call to action. And the response from the youth gives us hope that the shift has already begun.
